Measuring close to 4-metres in length, the Maruti Baleno has big dimensions and draws power from the same set of engines that do duty on the Swift. The petrol Baleno uses a 1.2-litre powerplant to generates 85 PS and 115 Nm while the diesel powered Baleno belts out 75 PS and 190 Nm, both mills being matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Additionally the petrol Baleno is also offered with a CVT gearbox. Maruti Suzuki has used a new platform for the Baleno which is 100 kgs lighter than the Swift, resulting in an excellent power to weight ratio.
